At teen age, one's life feels like being tossed around in a washing machine, with oneself looking at it from the outside, and having no clue what is happening. On top of this, Kessy, the protagonist, a 15 year old girl, is moving a lot throughout the U.S. due to her father's job at the military.
But then, everything seems to settle in a small town in southern Arizona.
