I can only speculate, but it seemed reasonable to me to presume that they are aware of issues Fairphone have been having and likely would have thought of resolutions to those issues, so likely would have some improvements.
The "more than 15 interchangeable modules" that they stated seems to potentially support that speculation.
Normally I would of course wait for independent reviews of any device and only then evaluate whether or not to get it, but in this case, also considering that it is their 8th time making a phone, I decided it was worth the risk of placing a pre-order to get the lower price, for me.
Especially since I just am really, really sick of Samsung's new behavior and don't see any other options seeming as good for my needs and desires as this SHIFTphone 8 at least seems intended to be.
