Our son starts at the University of Virginia (#UVa) this Fall. Today my wife and I spent the first of two days of "parent orientation" alongside his student orientation session. We heard interesting talks about the changes going on in young adult brains, and how best to help our son during this new phase of his life.
We weren't sure about signing up for the orientation. I've worked at UVa for 40 years, so I don't need a tour of the grounds. I'm glad we did it, though. I learned a lot.
