Scary as all hell,. I saw the flames from my house last night. The hills were nice and dark when I looked tonight.
The worst time for that fire-nado was yesterday, but they kept it from going into the valley and westwood (busy populated areas). The Santa Anas kick back in tonight, but it's predicted to be not as bad.
Originally, they had 8K firefighters, and no air support. You guys have no idea how magnificent that effort was because the trolls are out spreading rumors, but in almost any other city we would have seen a lot more death. There were 6 separate major fires, and they put out 2 the first day.
Now, there are 14K firefighters, the helicopters and Super Soakers are busy dropping water and retardant, plus the CA NG.
I'm still jumpy AF, packed and ready to leave, and so so tired of staying inside to avoid the smoke, but I feel better.
