What do you mean, without having access to the folders? Do they have NO access? That would mean only validating the syntactical correctness, right?

I also am not sure what you mean about unsolveds -- I believe that if you don't want globs resolved, then you don't want file globbing, you just want a [WildcardPattern].

P.S. I should admit that there's a much more fleshed out version of this in PSF (but that's a big framework, 4MB on disk and 20MB on import)
