Long before the ‘death penalty,’ Mustangs were pioneers for equality
SMU’s deliberate sabotage of anti-Black segregation defines its moral leadership & was a powerful factor in why SMU students attended the March at Selma in support of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. in 1965. This was also foundational to King’s decision to visit SMU’s McFarlin Auditorium in 1966.
