Sure, Will could sell the Damus app to someone else. But I have a personal copy of the code locally on my machine. I could fork and continue the project.
If I don’t like what’s happening to Damus but I’m too lazy to work on my own client or fork I can just use a different one. There are tons of other high quality clients out there.
