Over time I’ve finally come to realise that the Agile manifesto is a rebuttal to Taylorism. I know that Lean was a major influence at the time, although not explicitly called out in the manifesto itself. So many of the 12 principles continue to resonate when looking at more “modern” ideas like those very well explained in Team Topologies et al.
