To say that "violence has no place in a democratic system" is reminiscent of signs they used to post outside schools: drug free zone. Aspirational maybe, but not real. And to pretend otherwise is to ignore - with consequences - the history of violence against Native Americans, immigrants, women, slaves, LGBTQ+, etc! Violence is embedded in our history, media, and culture. MAGA violence has deep roots, which we have the capacity to address. We've a long way to go. At the very least, vote blue.
