What is in dispute is the precise number and the manner in which they died. All historical events are quite reasonably subject to regular inspection and review, as new discoveries in anthropology, genetics, lost documents, etc. further develop our understanding of those events.
The question is, why is the Holocaust the one genocide that is not able to be reviewed? Why not the Rwanda Genocide, or the Bantu Migrations, the Killing Fields of Cambodia, the Armenian Genocide, etc?
