You could use Syncthing for the basics but Syncthing is not so hot on say 10,000 small docs syncing per minute, nor public sharing, etc. I've got a self-hosted Syncthing that I do use to sync photos from my phone to desktop but with multiple devices like for Obsidian notes it has picked up conflicts quite a bit.
