I know many of you have read the Giver, but did any of you see the 2014 movie of it?

There's this scene where the Giver gives Jonas all these memories. It's this beautiful montage of the loveliest moments humans can have. He's perplexed and shocked after seeing this on why his society would take away that beauty and emotion.

I just wonder how different his reaction would have been if it had been a montage of all the pain and suffering human have faced throughout time. I wonder if he would have felt relief with his society and the way things are run then.
