Martyr Hermes, a Roman soldier, witnessed the brutal torture of other Christians in the 2nd century. Deeply moved by their unwavering faith, he openly confessed his own belief in Christ. Despite the Emperor's threats, Hermes remained steadfast. He was subjected to horrific tortures: flogging, burning with torches, and being forced to inhale noxious fumes. Through it all, he never renounced his faith. Finally, he was beheaded for Christ.
