If you understand the technology then you are aware that blocks have limited space. If there are a lot of transactions in the mempool then the transactions have to compete via fees for which one gets included into the next block. Ordinals create Bitcoin transaction which use up a lot of space and compete for the space in blocks. So people using the Bitcoin blockchain as intended have to pay higher fees because other people use it for shit and nodes have to save this shit, which blows up the chain.
In the long run the fees for moving their shitty jpegs will be way higher than their jpegs themselves. This trend will fade away like every stupid idea …
