Weathering of rocks takes CO2 from the atmosphere: CO2 (atmosphere) + H2O + CaSiO3 (rock material) -> Ca2+ + 2HCO3- + SiO2. So if very high amounts of CO2 come into the atmosphere, increased weathering of rocks will lower the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere, making it a negativr feedback loop
