Stories I'd like to read.
Stories that ultimately pull at your heartstrings and bring tears.
Fantasy and SF so I am not restricted by understanding our insane modern society or a historical one, and am unrestrained in what I depict except by physics or human nature.
Stories that show we are all human yet all unique, and that's good.
Stories that demonstrate that judging others by gender, color, preference, belief, or whatever, so long as nobody is hurt, is worthy of ridicule.
