The fallacy of historicism is the false assumption that only one group of people ever existed in any nation's history, and they all marched in straight lines like little toy soldiers. History is truly a dynamic and contentious place.
If you want to study history, then I recommend studying the ideas of the early English Radicals. Jeremy Bentham was prominent among them. While I differ with him on particulars, he was no less of a student of my beloved master, Epicurus.
