Exactly six years ago I made my first Fediverse account here on meow.social. Back then my timeline was so quiet, I could check it once per day and not miss a post.
Things have changed a bit since then! I've met so many cool creatures here, many of which have become friends IRL. We've had two big Fediverse meet-ups at Eurofurence (more to come!) and many more at smaller regional events since then. None of these would have happened without the connections I've found here.
Bluesky may have become the big Twitter replacement that we hoped the Fediverse would be, at least in terms of sheer numbers, but it is no replacement for the culture and quality of interactions I've found here on the Fediverse. Thank you all for being so sweet, and giving me hope in times when it feels like most of the world has gone crazy.
