Take the issue of slavery, for example. Both abolitionists and slaveowners have justified their beliefs and actions with the Bible. So, I never found myself looking towards religion to learn about what is moral and such. Instead, I feel that it's the role of the adults to teach children how to be compassionate and empathetic.
I also feel that queer rights is just non-negotiable. There's just no logical or moral reason (besides 2000-year-old bullshit from goat-fuckers) to fuck over a gay man yearning for love or a trans woman not fitting in with her own body.
