Poem a day, Day #25

The waiting room, is no place,
for conscious minds.

Florescent lights flicker,
But imperceptible.
One Hundred times per second,
It marks his thoughts.
On-Off-On-Off.
Maddening the unheard voice.
Static electricity gathers,
As he paces to the humming.

His skin tingles.

“I cannot be here anymore.”
And the brass knob sparks.

His eyes meet a man in white.
"It’s a boy."
