I think I'm having tomato anxiety 😅

I've nurtured these unknown tomatoes from seed, they've grown to enormous proportions (for my standards -I'd never had anything taller than the standard tomato cages) and now I have easily 100 green* tomatoes.

My initial stakes and tomato cages were not enough for the weight. I had to work out additional support after some heavy rain early in the summer.

The thing is that I'm in Seattle and summers are short. The joke here is that summer fell last year ... on a Wednesday.

And there are squirrels. And a raccoon -which doesn't like that one specific tomato cage and keeps trying to topple it over. And I have little kids eager to know if... that tomato in the middle of the plant... is it ready yet?

Some days I hover like a hawk around those tomato plants.

Last night there was this unseasonal storm, which made some damage. The picture is from this morning, after cutting out the broken branches. (Please, be kind with my poor tomato-staking skills).

So here we are.
And here is to hoping they make it through.

*ok there are four tomatoes almost ready.
