In this case, the word (from Latin) was used to describe the color of the fruit (gold), named from a Southeast Asian language through Arabic, which happened to also sound like the Latin to European speakers.

So, I think it’s technically: the color comes from the fruit, and the color was used to describe the fruit. 😅
