There are fungi that take over ant brains, nematodes that hijack snail eyes, and any number of other parasites that take over not just the resources of the host, but the mind or behavior of the host. Evangelical religions are exactly this, only they are purely software, like a computer virus that runs on wetware. Mental illness that's actually infectious.",
