The "Extreme Male Brain" theory of autism is both a meme and an accepted reality in the nationalist right. It's funny, but also men do tend to excel at the same things as autists. But beyond the lulz, we have quite a few reasons to question this theory.
My main objection to Baron-Cohen’s thesis is that it separates the typical male brain from typical male behaviour. When you think of the most masculine societies that have ever existed, what do you think of? The Homeric Greeks, the Norse, the Mongols, the pre-Islamic Arabs. Do these strike you as populated by sensitive, introverted bureaucrats, or by instinctual, clannish men of action?
