Using paid relays probably won’t be a long term fix because the fee is for access to the relay regardless of reach and distribution. As nostr grows, the relay’s distribution will increase and incentive to spam will also increase.

IMHO, best to use something that can’t be easily gamed like the “trust graph” - people followed by people I follow and those followed by people they follow.

Eg. Let’s say I follow Preston. I would want to see the people he follows and the people those people follow, etc. I’ll bet several degrees of trust will create a high signal global feed.
