This was a double-blind study. It found improvements in both people with device inserted and those who had fake surgery improved. When people in the placebo group we told that they didn’t have the device they quickly had cognitive loss. The article focused on the ethics of telling certain people they we in the placebo group, but emphasizes the need for proper studies",
