This seems to assume that they wanted a two state solution. From what I have read the only agenda was death to the Jews. Either by wining and single state or Israel giving a two state solution so they can vote the Jews out of office and then kill them. These are the Arabs who are the grandchildren of Arabs who were forced of the land. The numbers have gone from hundreds thousands to millions. Any who have not fled were forced into a small land area, used any foreign aid to rocket Israel. There is no trust , no no trusted 3rd party to mediate, the properly voted in government is Hamas who are actively hostel. The vote was a onetime vote and never came up for reelection. SO I think the US position is reasonable. You have Hamas rule and genocide the Jews and become Iran. Or you let , as much as hate him, Netanyahu rule and Arabs are second class citizens but not actively killed as long as they don't shoot first and we have bouts of peace in between the horrific slaughtering of Jews during music festivals.
