My thermostat has a heat/cool mode where I can set an upper and lower set point and it'll automatically try to keep it in that range.
For me it's roughly 69 ℉ to 78 ℉. You don't want the range to be too small or else the unit will be constantly cycling as it will almost certainly overshoots the desired set point by a bit.
You could probably do something similar where if the temperature is about 75 turn the cool on and if its below 70 turn the heat on.
