I've come to the conclusion that writing hashtags are useless. It's just a stack of people randomly writing into the void giving the illusion of community.

If nobody actually responds to each other then what's the point? I doubt people even read them. The couple of times I was excited enough to reply there was no engagement back at all. Other times I think I'll reply but also think "why, just copy the hashtag."

You're basically just talking to yourself.
