A friend shared an article by Pastor Tim Keller with me this morning and I found it so nice I had to read it twice ๐. It was a lot like his sermons, profound and practical. A quote from G. K. Chesterton came to mind: "At least five times... the Faith has to all appearances gone to the dogs. In each of these five cases, it was the dog that died."
Keller concludes: "If the Church aims at loving service to oneโs neighbor while clearly speaking the truth, it will grow again and may have cultural influence." Loving service and speaking the truth are what the scripture commands us to do: speaking the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15). And this lines up with what Jesus said are the two greatest commandments, summarized as: loving God and loving people. If the Church follows these, we won't go wrong.
