When people make a different choice than you would, it's incredibly easy to judge them for it, without ever knowing their reasons or circumstances & then pat yourself on the back for being superior.
It's also obnoxious.
If you want to see people make choices you approve of (which is a mess to unpack another day), you could start by talking to them & listening rather than make assumptions, then give them useful support so other opens are possible.
