We've been dwindling down because we aren't sure if we will be here much longer. We had 4 sheep last spring but two got butchered because of a dog attack. We've been waiting for Belle to lamb so that we can butcher our current ram since he has turned into a jerk. But Belle is a dairy breed so I'll use her milk in a few weeks to make some cheese. We used to have some phenomenal wool sheep but yeah, sadly had to put her down and didn't get a chance to breed em again. We usually send the fleece off to a fibermill but the mill we use had equipment break and after waiting 6 months to hear back from my emails, they finally told me about the catastrophic failure and reccomend me another mill. But I haven't reached out yet. I have processed wool myself, we have carding equipment and such, but it a lot of work. We sold our spinning wheel because again, to spin consistently and competently takes many hours and I'm a busy mom who doesn't have time to learn that skill. But sheep are loads of fun. We won't butcher Belle, just sell her off to greener pastures 💕
