I have a friend and mentor who’s rented all her life. Twice now since 2019, she’s had two houses she’s rented sold out from under her. I wish I were wealthy and could buy a house for her. It makes you feel helpless watching someone go through that, especially multiple times. It’s demoralizing to her and makes her regret all the rent she’s paid out over the years that could have gone towards a mortgage. I wish I could teach her about Bitcoin and how it theoretically solves the issues she’s perpetually experiencing, which I see as systemic, but it doesn’t feel appropriate, and the learning curve is such that it makes it feel like an impossible chasm to bridge.
