honestly and genuinely, the reach of the american police is crazy. they can lie to you, coerce you, threaten you, arrest you for fake reasons. force you to obey orders they don't have a legal basis for issuing at gunpoint. even a bogus arrest is enough to ruin your life. if you're a teacher that gets arrested for disorderly conduct for exercising your rights, even if charges are dropped you can easily lose your job that you took on a lifetime of debt to earn.
and what happens when they get caught? taxpayers foot the bill to settle the lawsuit that comes next. maybe they lose their job and have to move 20 minutes away to join a different police force so they can keep power tripping.
