I couldn’t get over the mishandling of sexuality. I get that he wanted to show that the power structure wants to have control over everything, but the whole chastity behind the workings of big brother just fell enormously flat for me. If you want to have control over a people, encourage them to give in to vice.
Huxley executed sexuality better in his book.
Still a great piece of lit, but I was annoyed by that the whole time.
