Had my lens picked up for delivery late yesterday morning by Royal Mail and that's arrived safely at Canon repair north of London already. You can't really complain about a one day, door-to-door, one kilogram parcel pickup and delivery service for about £4.
Now we wait to see what Canon deem it will cost to fix and how long it will take, although I've indicated I'd like it expedited (for an additional fee, naturally).
