I stopped paying attention to the Hugos after the rabid puppy fiasco, it was at least a decent place to learn about interesting reads. Awards in general have always been a bit of a weird area though, small demo etc. But then I haven't won one so my opinion could change drastically if by some small chance I ever won one. 🤣
Now I just get recommendations online or from Scalzi's blog.
