Shireen was a Palestinian journalist for Al Jazeera for 25 years, known for her reporting on the Israeli occupation and Palestinian uprisings. She was murdered on May 11, 2022, by an Israeli sniper while covering events in the Jenin refugee camp, despite wearing protective gear marked 'Press.'
