Find my best tips and advice on how to make your family carnivore and be succesfull about it.

Maybe you are a carnivore yourself and want to share your lifestyle with your family or your family has decided to start carnivore all together then this is for you.

⬇️⬇️⬇️

1) Find Common Ground:
Whether you agree on a full carnivore diet for your family and kids, or prefer a more ketovore approach, it's essential for adults to find common ground. Decide what's important to you when it comes to food and consider how much you want to stick to the carnivore way of eating, even outside the home.

2) Start the Transition:
Begin by cutting out seed oils, grains, and sugars from the diet. Clean out the pantry—it’s much easier for everyone when unhealthy food isn’t available in the house. For a few weeks, make your meals more meat-heavy keto. Ensure there’s plenty of meat, and explore what kinds of animal-based foods your kids enjoy. Focus on making more of those foods.

3) Eat for Health and Nutrition:
Your kids and spouse may have lots of questions about this new way of eating. Discuss it openly, emphasizing that you eat this way because it's good for your health, mood, and overall well-being. Explain that the goal is to feel good and thrive. Avoid shaming other types of food; focus on the positives.

4) Admit Previous Mistakes:
If, like me, you used to tell your kids to eat lots of vegetables because you thought they were essential for health, it's okay to admit you were wrong. Life is about learning, and now we know better.

5) Engage Your Kids:
Getting kids involved in the process is also beneficial. Ask them which animal foods they want to try, and involve them in shopping and preparing meals. Educating them about good food and where it comes from helps build respect for what they eat and equips them to navigate the broader food world outside the home.

6) Go Full Carnivore:
Pick a time when you have some extra bandwidth—such as during a vacation or long weekend—to fully commit to going carnivore. This gives you time to care for family members who might feel tired or irritable due to carb withdrawal symptoms.

7) No Limits on Carnivore Foods:
At first, some may experience increased hunger. Don’t restrict fatty meats, butter, eggs, seafood, etc. If you or your kids are hungry, just cook more. The heightened hunger will pass once your body adjusts to receiving more nutrients. Be cautious with milk and yogurt, as they can easily kick you out of ketosis.

8) Navigating the Outside World:
It can be challenging to maintain a carnivore diet in today's society. Help your family stay on track by preparing lunches for work and school. Having pre-cooked meals in the fridge makes it easier to grab food on the go.

9) Social Events:
If there’s a buffet at a social event, offer to bring food, like chicken thighs or meatballs, so there’s something your family can eat. This ensures you have options and allows you to contribute.

10) Eating at Friends' Houses:
Inform your friends ahead of time about your eating style, so they don’t prepare foods like salads or cakes specifically for you. If possible, offer to bring meat for everyone to share, ensuring you have something to eat and contributing to the meal. Bringing bags of pork rinds or cheese can also be a good snack option.

11) Practice Saying "No, Thank You":
Talk with your kids about how to politely decline foods that don’t align with your family's way of eating. Role-play difficult situations, such as explaining their food choices or saying "no, thank you" when offered other foods. It’s easier to say no if they have an alternative to eat when surrounded by snacks.

12) Alternatives:
It's much easier to say no to unwanted foods when you're feeling full and satisfied, rather than when you're hungry. Having healthy alternatives available also makes it easier to make good choices.

13) Change Takes Time:
Be patient and don't expect the whole family to instantly know how to follow the new lifestyle. It takes time and practice and you might have to a just your way of doing it as you go along.

14) It Won’t Be Perfect:
It's hard, especially for children, to do things differently from others. Give your kids credit for doing their best when they’re out in the world. If they end up eating something else, just say:
"I know it can be tough. I know you're doing the best you can."
