The resident Glossy Ibis have been very shy so far this season. Yesterday some were foraging along the lake edge so I sat down just off the path and put the extender on my lens and just watched. Each time a pedestrian (with or without dog) disturbed them I commando crawled slightly nearer and they came back a little closer until I was stuck in that awkward position where any movement would probably flush them, and it is almost impossible to commando crawl backwards whilst handling a big camera lens combo. First world birding dilemmas I guess!
Here is one enjoying a little bath / drink / play session and I will post some of them eating as well
