Fwiw, being a good researcher is by definition very much about not being "normal" and "standardized". Wanting everybody to fit in and follow the same rules, standards and trends, as bureaucracy constantly pressures us to do, is a recipe for building armies of boring academic clones who are incapable of thinking by themselves and can only look for their keys under the lamp post. Standardization is self-destruction.
