So, I realize that one of the things I'm grappling with is the death of one part of my straight cis white guy privilege. Which is that I've realized that I live amongst people who would prefer I not exist at all but who will settle for making me suffer. It is difficult and made more difficult by the knowledge that MANY people live their entire lives this way. So welcome to the party for me, I guess.
