Hot take: now that #Meta has set its sights on usurping the #fediverse, "defederate them ASAP" is a defeatist approach. Our friends who are simply not online enough to keep up with our creative pursuits will soon start to learn that there is a clean alternative; the only possible antagonistic approach is, I believe, to quote #Freud, that "we're bringing them plague".
Or, as Soviet propaganda of the late 1920s once had it: "Not #X, not #Facebook. Forward."
