I’ll never understand how having your dog put to sleep right in front of you while you watch them take their last breath is humane and accepted as normal.
I walked my dog into the animal hospital and she stopped in the hallway to sniff all the other dogs who were there before her. She was clearly still interested and engaged. She’s mostly blind and mostly deaf but still has her nose. To see her engaged in her little ways and knowing what’s coming was heartbreaking. 💔
