I've heard of the the extreme weight on the sea bed and the earth below, but I'm not sure that relates to the elevation differences... Unfortunately the website where I read about the gravity pulling the water higher seems to be gone, so I just don't know. I do know that just difference in systems of measuring elevation could easily account for the difference.",
