even in youtube when you do "skip ads," you're still feeding google data about you. when you click, google now knows that you're actively watching yt. they know where you're located, what you're watching, and can build a profile about your viewing habits on yt, couple that with your searches on google, all of the websites that you visit, etc.
every click you make is data that they take.
