I've said "AI will become a religion and there will be AI churches" and I'd like to explain what I mean:
- You have this thing that isn't real, but people treat it as real and having a personality.
- It gives you mostly true but vague pablum. You decide if you believe it based on whether you like what it says.
- Debates over it are mostly exercises in time-wasting navel gazing.
- The main reason people try to spread it is 1) they prefer solid lies to uncertainty or 2) it makes them money.
