Ford didn't cancel this program because it doesn't work. He cancelled a basic income pilot exactly because it does work. Keeping as many of us in poverty as possible is part of what keeps the wheels of capitalism turning. They need our desperation, they need our poverty, they need our cheap labour.

Voting conservative means more people in poverty because that's what the rich need to stay rich. If there weren't enough poor people, being rich would also be meaningless.
