I’ve seen the Monarch twice now. Once a few weeks ago, and now at this Convention. Even between those two occasions, it’s come a long way. Yesterday I read a beautifully formatted book that looked like a proper page of Braille. The seamless way it integrates graphics and Alt text, and being able to zoom in on a graphic, is very cool. It’s an exciting device. The spirit of co-design with the blind community being displayed in its creation is exemplary. Not the kind of thing many individuals are going to purchase, but there’s some advocacy going on to get it funded for students in the US.
