There are always problems in the sector - smaller credit unions in particular often struggle to keep up with increasing regulatory burdens, especially since, as anyone who's ever run a volunteer board will tell you, director recruitment and succession is a pain. But there are also a lot of credit unions that are doing extremely well, hitting records in terms of membership and lending, and the sector overall is growing, with new products recently authorised.
